Wheel Basics — $185 per person
2.5 hours per class, 4 weeks
This introductory wheel course teaches the foundational skills needed for throwing pottery on the wheel. No prior experience is required. Over four weeks, you’ll learn:

  1. Centering and throwing cylinders

  2. Cylinders, bowls, mugs, and trimming basics

  3. Trimming bowls and mugs, plus making handles

  4. Glaze day — finish and decorate your pieces

All clay, glazes, and firings are included.

Handbuilding Basics — $185 per person
2.5 hours per class, 4 weeks
This beginner-friendly class explores the art of handbuilding. You’ll learn pinch, coil, and slab construction techniques to create ceramic wares and sculptural forms. We’ll also use studio tools like the slab roller and extruder to expand your possibilities.

Weekly breakdown:

  1. Pinch and coil construction, introduction to studio tools

  2. Soft slab construction

  3. Hard slab construction

  4. Glaze day!

All clay, glazes, and firings are included.

This four-week course is designed for intermediate potters who are ready to work larger and experiment with form and function. Participants should feel comfortable with wheel-throwing basics and be willing to work with 5+ pounds of clay on the wheel.

The class will include general demonstrations as well as one-on-one guidance, offering tips and techniques to help you gain control and confidence as you scale up. The goal is to build strength, refine your skills, and explore new possibilities—embracing risk and learning through trial and error along the way.
